Gwyneth Paltrow to perform with The Muppets and Cee Lo Green at Grammy Awards
Gwyneth Paltrow is to perform with The Muppets and Cee Lo Green at the Grammy Awards. The actress and the soul singer are teaming up with the puppet characters, which includes Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, for an expected edited version of Cee Lo’s mega-hit F**k You.
The Iron Man star only started singing professionally for her role as an alcoholic country singer in Country Strong, but since the role she made her live debut at the Country Music Awards (CMAs) last November and appeared on TV show ‘Glee’ where she first performed a version of ‘F**k You’.
This impressed Cee Lo so much they later collaborated on a studio version of the track, and subsequently performed it on TV comedy show Saturday Night Live.
The 36-year-old singer admitted he felt his musical partner was “really feeling and appreciating what I had done artistically. That was awesome to come from her and feel her energy”.
Although Gwyneth has been praised for her vocal talents, she has confessed to being nervous before performances, and prepared by asking her pop star friends for tips ahead of her first stage appearance.
“I kind of asked my girl singer friends for advice. I asked Faith Hill a lot of questions — and Beyonce Knowles too,” she said.
“I studied Beyonce a lot and her concerts for her kind of confidence — and I’m lucky that I know some singers in real life.
“I watched her perform a lot to see how she did it, and I was like, ‘S**t! I can’t do that!’ ”
Other acts confirmed for the 53rd annual Grammy Awards include Eminem, Rihanna — who will collaborate with rapper Drake — Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, B.o.B, Muse, Usher and Justin Bieber.
The ceremony takes place at the Staples Center, Los Angeles, on Sunday, February 13.
