Eminem lands $1m deal to star in Super Bowl commercial
Eminem can still command the big bucks. The Stan hitmaker has struck a deal for a $1 million-plus Super Bowl spot to appear as a Claymation character in a Lipton Brisk iced-tea commercial, according to New York Post gossip column Page Six.
The ad will reportedly give viewers a glimpse into a day in the life of the actor/rapper.
Eminem has been preceded by Ozzy Osbourne and Machete star Danny Trejo, who are featured in the recently revived Brisk Claymation ads.
Meanwhile, Eminem’s comeback record, Recovery, was the top-selling album of 2010, according to Nielsen SoundScan numbers released Wednesday.
The disc — which was the the Stan hitmaker’s sixth chart-topper — has shifted more than 3.4 million units since its June release.
Taylor Swift’s third album, Speak Now, came in at No. 3 with 2.96 million in sales. Justin Bieber’s My World 2.0 and Susan Boyle’s The Gift came in fourth and fifth spots respectively.
Lady GaGa’s The Fame was named No. 6 with 1.6 million in sales, followed by Sade’s Soldier of Love with 1.3 million.
