This spectacular evening will feature exciting, new modern and ethnic arrangements by composer and music director Sharon Farber, highlighting Hedva’s forty year career. Hedva will perform songs from her beginnings as a folk singer in the time…less duo, “Hedva & David”, as well as her biggest chart-topping hits from her career as a solo artist. She will be joined on stage by guest singers and musicians.

Hedva Amrani made history as one of the first Israeli singers to capture the international market. She recorded her first hit song while serving in the Israeli Defense Forces in 1962. Her songs have had widespread success and she has sold millions of records, garnering many prestigious awards and honors. Her commitment to Israeli music and her role as a cultural icon and diplomat have earned her the respected title of “The Voice of Israel.”

Hedva’s earliest success in Israel was with the folk and pop duo “Hedva and David.” Their unparalleled fame in Israel carried them far beyond the borders and into the hearts of international audiences. They had remarkable success in Japan with the song “I Dream of Naomi,” sung in English, Hebrew and Japanese, becoming the first foreigners ever to earn Japan’s equivalent of the “Grammy Awards.” The song won first place in the “Yamaha Song Festival” in Tokyo and became a gold record. Hedva has captivated audiences all over the world. Her hits such as “Bo Elai” (Come to Me) and “B’Lev Ehad-Salaam Aleicum” (Peace unto You) and “Shneynu Yachdav” (Two of Us Together) are played daily on Israeli radio and television.

Hedva recently flew to Israel at the request of her friend President Shimon Peres, to sing at his 87th birthday party at the Cameri Theater in Tel Aviv.
