Eminem: Fame makes dating difficult

Rapper Eminem’s worldwide fame makes it difficult for him to date. The hip-hop superstar -– who has been single since splitting from his ex-wife Kimberley Scott — wants to be in a relationship but struggles to meet people because of his celebrity status.

When asked if he dates, he said, “Not really. As far as going out, like dinner and a movie — I just can’t. Going out in public is just too crazy. I mean, I’d like to be in a relationship again someday. Who doesn’t? It’s just hard to meet new people, in my position.”

It isn’t just fame which prevents Eminem from finding love, the Slim Shady hitmaker admitted he finds it difficult to trust new people.

“I have trust issues,” he said. “With women, friends, whatever. You always wonder what their real motives are. I’ve got a small circle of friends, and it’s a lot of the same friends I’ve known forever.”

Eminem has battled an addiction to prescription drugs in the past and says he is now focusing on keeping himself healthy.

“Right now, that works for me,” he said. “I came out of some difficult things these past couple of years. I kind of feel like I’m just now finding my footing. So I want to make sure that’s secure before I go out and do anything else. I need to keep working on myself for a while.”

Eminem has a 14-year-old daughter Hailie, his child with Kimberley, and two adopted girls Alaina, the child of Kimberley’s sister, and Whitney — Kimberley’s daughter from a previous relationship.

He is also the legal guardian of his younger half-brother Nathan.
