Jane Fonda is desperate to get back on the television
Jane Fonda is desperate to get herself back on the TV! The Oscar-winner says she’d quite like to land a role on a television series. “I have a sort of a vision of what it could be and that’s all that I’ll say,” she said.
“I think the best, edgiest writing is now on cable television. It’s pretty exciting.”
Meanwhile, Fonda, 72, can be seen in new workout DVDs designed specifically for baby boomers.
“People who are of a certain age tend to be ignored by the fitness industry and being that I’m older and I’ve done a lot of research on what happens to a body when it gets older, I know that it’s essential that we stay active,” she said.
“It’s the worst thing that a person could do when they’re older is to say, ‘Why bother now? I’m older. I don’t need to,’” she added. “I’m on this crusade to get older people out of the chairs, off their couches, moving in a way that’s safe, easy and very doable even if they’ve never done it a day in their lives. It’s never too late.”
Meanwhile, Jane — who has been married to French director Roger Vadim, former politician Tom Hayden and media mogul Ted Turner — is said to be keen to tie knot again after surviving a breast cancer scare earlier this year.
Fonda recently underwent surgery earlier this month to remove a lump from her breast after doctors discovered a small “non-invasive” tumor during a routine check-up.
Jane and Richard got engaged in 2009.
“Richard has been a rock. He stuck by her side through the whole ordeal and promised to take care of her, no matter how serious the situation turned out to be,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer.
“Seeing Richard step up to the plate made Jane realize he is truly the man for her… The cancer changed Jane’s priorities. He’s the man of her dreams, and Jane wants to be with him for the rest of her life.”
