Eva Longoria wishes she divorced Tony Parker a lot sooner

Eva Longoria’s biggest regret is that she didn’t leave her husband Tony Parker sooner. Desperate Housewives star Longoria, 35, kicked Parker to the curb after finding hundreds of texts he sent to another woman (rumored to be Erin Barry, the wife of his NBA ex-teammate Brent).

“Once a cheater always a cheater,” a source close to Eva told the PopEater website.

“Just five months into their marriage, reports of Tony’s infidelity spread like wildfire, but Eva chose to listen to her heart and not her head. She stood by her man, believing deeply in the institution of marriage. She chose to believe her husband was innocent.

“You just don’t get up and walk away from a marriage because of a few text messages.

“There is much, much more to this story than that. Don’t think for one second Eva made this decision lightly. Stuff went down that she will never talk about. She is far too much of a lady to air her dirty laundry in public, but let’s just say Tony knows exactly what he did to her and it wasn’t the first time and wouldn’t have been the last. Trust has been broken, as well as Eva’s heart.”

Meanwhile, sources close to Tony insist Eva isn’t entirely blameless for the marriage collapse.

“Eva has been no angel, either,” a pal said.

“When they first got married, they both agreed to spend as much time with each other as possible. They knew it would be a challenge with them working in different states, but Eva’s part-time taping schedule for Desperate Housewives and the resources they had meant it wouldn’t be that hard.

“During the first year of marriage, Eva partially lived on an plane, visiting Tony the minute the director shouted ‘cut’ on the set of Housewives.

“Eva didn’t care about the lavish Hollywood parties she was missing or the fantastic private events she was invited to.

“Tony understands how important Eva’s career is to her and never wanted her to leave Los Angeles and settle with him in Texas.

“But then she would tell him that important meetings came up in Hollywood — which meant she had to stay in LA — and then he would see pictures of her and her friends out at restaurants and clubs. That’s when he knew he couldn’t compete.”

Eva and Tony married back in July of 2007.
