Helen Mirren paid £500k for Wii advert

Helen Mirren has reportedly been paid £500,000 to promote Wii Fit. Nintendo has recruited the Oscar-winning actress to promote the fitness game to over-50s, according to MSN.

A source said: “Nintendo insisted they wanted Helen and no-one else. They wanted an older, more attractive woman to show that the Wii isn’t just for children.”

The adverts will see Mirren playing the game and praising the variety of activities available.

Nintendo has previously signed Beyoncé and Ant and Dec to star in its commercials.
