Amanda Seyfried bought $1.9M apartment
Amanda Seyfried (24) is enjoying the fruits of her labor. The Letters to Juliette actress — who was recently linked to Hollywood hunk Ryan Phillippe — has just bought herself a $1.9 million two-bedroom New York apartment in Greenwich Village’s esteemed Devonshire House.
Seyfriend reportedly bought the pre-war apartment over the summer through an LLC which kept her anonymous.
Seyfried hinted in the March issue of Vanity Fair that movies with onscreen swooning “pay a lot” and that she was saving up for a Manhattan apartment.
“Sometimes, when you want to buy an apartment in Manhattan, you gotta do one or two [romantic comedies],” she said.
Seyfried has previously said she prefers the Big Apple because she hates the Hollywood lifestyle.
‘I sacrificed six years in Los Angeles,” she said. “I did my job out there. I made the contacts and did the work I had to do. But I came here at 18. I’m out of here at 24, and I feel lucky it wasn’t longer.
“I bought an apartment in New York but I can’t move in until April because it needs renovating. I was hoping to move there now. But it’s OK. It’s worth it.
“And I have my relationship overseas too. New York’s just so much easier than Los Angeles as I’m always going to London. It’s nice to be closer — even if it’s still a long flight. 11 hours is different from seven.”
