Christina Aguilera planning to take on Lady GaGa
Christina Aguilera is planning to get back on top. The singer — who recently announced her split from husband Jordan Bratman — has turned to her Burlesque costar Cher as she bids to regain her pop queen crown.
Aguilera’s recent album, Bionic, bombed in the charts.
“Christina is going through a transition right now both personally and professionally,” says a source close to the star.
“She is working through a number of issues and Cher has continued to be the close friend she was when they were filming Burlesque together. Cher is helping her through this difficult time and helping with a strategy to get her back to the top, career-wise.”
It was recently claimed that Aguilera blamed Bratman for her career slump.
“She feels that he held her back when she wanted to focus more on her career,” a source told New York Post gossip column Page Six.
Meanwhile, in a new interview with Redbook magazine, Aguilera admits she’s having days where she feels she can’t “get out of bed”
“I have my mom and a small group of close friends who are there for me 24/7 and whom I can trust and depend on,” she said.
“On days when it feels impossible to even get out of bed, much less function as a mother, their support and encouragement have kept me moving forward.
“It’s not easy.”
