Rihanna will release a new album a later this year

The record, called Loud, will hit shelves in November — although an exact release date for the album is yet to be confirmed.

The first single from the album — Only Girl (In the World) – will premiere online Wednesday.

“I didn’t want to go backward and remake Good Girl Gone Bad,” Rihanna said of her 2008 album. “I wanted the next step in the evolution of Rihanna.”

“I’m gonna miss the [2009 album] Rated R era too, but NOTHING compares to the album I just made.”

It was recently claimed that Rihanna gave teen star Taylor Momsen a little telling off when she found out she’d been dissing her in the media.

“Rihanna did not take kindly to a 17-year-old making such rude comments about her, especially since they flooded the internet as soon as they were released,” a source said.

“She got Taylor’s number through a friend and called her up, telling her to back off and act her age. Rihanna is not the kind of person you want to mess with.”
