Angelina Jolie keen to play Cleopatra

Angelina Jolie says she’d be interested in playing Cleopatra on the big screen. The actress — who was recently rumored to be in talks to portray Marylin Monroe in a biopic — insists she’d be more than happy to take on the role of the Egyptian queen — as long as the story is “right”.

“I think if we can get the story right – the real story – it could be interesting,” says Angelina on the idea.

“There’s a lot about her that has not been covered yet. So if we can do something original, we will.”

Recent reports claimed Jolie — who raises six kids with longtime partner Brad Pitt — is planning to release her memoirs.

“Expect a seven million dollar advance here,” said one publishing insider.

“It could be the biggest book in years if she really is ready to tell all.”
