Prince William jokes about Prince Harry raiding his fridge
OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William has joked he hopes Prince Harry’s engagement will mean he stops “scrounging” all his food.
The 35-year-old royal was delighted to hear his younger brother, 33, popped the question to Meghan Markle, and has poked fun at him, quipping it may mean he won’t be raiding his fridge as much as he used to now that he has a long-term partner of his own.
Speaking in Helsinki, Finland, during a visit to charity Icehearts, he said: “We’re all very excited, delighted for them both. Wishing them all the happiness in this very exciting time.
“For me personally, I hope it means he stays out of my fridge, it will stop him scrounging all my food he’s done over the last few years.”
William – who has son Prince George, four, and two-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte with wife Duchess Catherine – also admitted Harry and Meghan are “very caught up in the moment” following the announcement of their engagement.
He added: “It’s a fantastic process to go through, engagement and then the build-up to the wedding, so they’ve got a lot of happy times ahead of them and I think they’re very caught up in the moment.
“I wish them all the happiness in success in planning the wedding.
“I hope it goes really well.”
Earlier this week, Catherine admitted she is “absolutely thrilled” for Harry and Meghan.
She said: “William and I are absolutely thrilled. It’s such exciting news.
“It’s a really happy time for any couple.
“And we wish them all the best and hope they enjoy this happy moment.”
Harry’s father Prince Charles announced the pair had got engaged on Monday (27.11.17) and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, has since admitted they are “absolutely delighted” with the news.
She said: “It’s brilliant and as I said, America’s loss is our gain. We are all absolutely delighted.”
