Christina Hendricks is a natural blonde

Christina Hendricks (35) has a guilty secret: She’s a natural blonde! The Mad Men star admits she started dying her hair red when she was just 10!

“I was obsessed with the Canadian novel Anne of Green Gables,” Christina said. “I decided I was Anne of Green Gables. There was something that spoke to me about her, and I wanted to have her beautiful red hair. So my mother said, ‘Let’s just go to the drugstore and get one of those cover-the-gray rinses!’

“My hair was very blond at the time, but it went carrot red. And I was over the moon. I went to school the next day and felt like myself. And then I went back [to that color] over and over again. What a cool mom, right?”

Hendricks recently revealed that she and some of her Hollywood peers have taken up knitting.

“There are a lot of these young actresses who knit,” she said. “It started years ago with the models. The models were knitting backstage at the runways, they were drinking champagne and knitting, then all of us wanted to be like the models and we all started doing it.

“We’re a very glamorous bunch; we’ve got a producer and someone who works at a record company and my best friend who’s an actress.”
