Leighton Meester is a text addict

The 24-year-old actress admits sending short messages from her phone to her friends is her biggest pastime when she is working on US teen drama Gossip Girl and she astonishes people with the speed in which she can type out a note.

“I´m very fast. That’s mainly because I text so much. I am a text addict,” she said. “It is often what I end up doing when I’m on set and have to be really quiet — I text.

“I have gotten really, really good and it is really sad! I use all those abbreviations too.”

Leighton — who plays Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl – recently admitted she quit school early because she was bullied over her love of acting.

“I was a bit of a goofball. I wanted to be a counselor, help people, but then I discovered this other side to people,” she said.

“I was easy to pick on because of my acting. I realized that there are a lot of people out there who just aren’t very nice.

“I stopped going to school – I was a bit rebellious and just didn’t go. My mother was fine about it.”
