James Franco says Julia Roberts is shy when it comes to love scenes
James Franco says Julia Roberts was “extremely shy” when it came to love their love scenes in new movie Eat, Pray, Love.
“She is extremely shy when it comes to any kind of romantic scene, so I felt like: ‘Oh, I guess I’m the more experienced one’,” Franco said.
Franco, 42, said he didn’t even want to have an on-screen smooch.
“But I said, ‘Look, I think the movie would be served by a kiss in the scene’,” he recalled.
“So I pressed forward and got it.”
Meanwhile, Franco is set to return to ABC’s General Hospital so his character can take care of some “unfinished business.”
When James agreed to appear on the show the first time around, he asked if his character could be an artist.
“And then I asked could he be crazy, so they made that happen. But because of that, it allows the character and the show to go in different places because the character is so wild and unpredictable, he can kind of take the storylines in weird places,” said Franco.
“I think there are a lot of components to being a part of this show and all of them fascinate me. Yes, I have tremendous respect for what they do here. I mean, nothing goes this fast,” said Franco. “So, yeah, acting in daytime is different but if you go with the way that it’s set up, there can be a very satisfying and expressive result, I think.”
