Katie Holmes to present Tony Award
Katie Holmes and Daniel Radcliffe are to present a Tony Award together. The 31-year-old actress – who made her theatre debut on New York’s Broadway in ‘All My Sons’ in 2008 – and the ‘Harry Potter’ star will reportedly be at the ceremony on Sunday (13.06.10) to hand out the best featured actress honour.
A source said: “Katie has proven herself a welcome addition to the Broadway community with her phenomenal debut last year in ‘All My Sons’ and her continued support of theatre.
“She and Daniel will bring a really great energy to the show this year, and everyone is really looking forward to working with her.”
Among the nominees for best featured actress is Scarlett Johansson.
The Hollywood beauty – who is nominated for her role in ‘A View from the Bridge’ – faces competition from Maria Dizzia, Rosemary Harris, Jan Maxwell and Jessica Hecht.
Musicals ‘Fela!’ and ‘La Cage aux Folles’ lead the nominations, with 11 nods each. ‘Fences’, which starred Denzel Washington follows with 10.
The 64th annual Tony Awards – which will be broadcast live in the US – take place at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
‘Will and Grace’ actor Sean Hayes will host the ceremony.
