Matt Lauer and Annette Lauer split

Matt Lauer and his wife of 12 years, Annette Lauer, have reportedly split because he was allegedly cheating on her. According to the National Enquirer, Annette is convinced that Matt cheated on her during the Today Show’s coverage of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Colombia, back in February of 2010.

And before you knock the “National Enquirer”, remember they broke the news of the Tiger Woods & John Edwards’s cheating scandals.

According to Radaronline.com and a Today show insider, the couple has been living apart for two months, and Annette is no longer wearing her wedding ring. Apparently Matt is now searching for his own apartment in New York City.

According to the show insider, “Matt is trying to keep this [split] on the down low.” In addition, sources say that Matt’s NBC bosses are pressuring the presenter to maintain his image as a solid family man to appeal to his largely female audience.

The source goes on to say, “Matt is still very involved in his children’s lives. He goes to the family apartment after he finishes his Today duties to see the kids – and picks them up from school.

“For their sake, he and Annette plan to continue getting together on weekends – and they’ll go to their house in the Hampton’s.”

This isn’t the first time a scandal has rocked their marriage. They reportedly filed for divorce in 2006, but later reconciled. They have three children together, so for the sake of their kids, we hope they can work this out. Do you believe Matt cheated? What are your thoughts?
