Heather Mills: “I can’t stand Piers Morgan”
Heather Mills has hit out at Britain’s Got Talent judge Piers Morgan, claiming that he should not be allowed on television due to his past.
The star admitted that she has never forgiven the former tabloid editor for printing photos in The Mirror which purported to show Iraqi prisoners being abused by British Army soldiers. Within days of the pictures being published in 2004, they were exposed as fakes and Morgan lost his job with the newspaper.
Speaking to ITN, Mills commented: “I can’t stand Piers Morgan. I just can’t believe that the country has put a man on television who put pictures in the paper of British soldiers, risking their lives, urinating on Iraqi soldiers.
“I can’t believe he’s been put on the screen. It’s like, how short are people’s memories? He abused the process and insulted the British soldiers in the worst way possible.
“Having worked in war zones for years and years and years and seen people die and risk their lives, I just thought that was disgusting. Now he’s famous on that show and I just think that’s really sad.”
Mills continued to complain about the TV personality on Twitter last night after ITN’s piece reported Morgan’s oft-repeated claim that he was the person who introduced her to Sir Paul McCartney.
She wrote: “Dear ITN news, for your factoids, Piers Morgan never introduced me to my ex-husband, he is a liar and dines on this.”
