OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Baker has denied bullying Martin Roberts during his time on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’
The 59-year-old broadcaster became the first of this year’s camp mates to be booted out of the jungle on Friday (25.11.16), and has insisted his heated debate with the ‘Homes Under The Hammer’ host was not “bullying”, as he was just sticking up for fellow contestant Scarlett Moffatt at the time.
He told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “If someone is jabbing away at you and you have a go back. ‘Oh, you’re bullying me’ – that seems passive aggressive nonsense.
“I’m not responsible if a bloke breaks down and cries after I’ve picked him up because he’s having a go at one of the girls in there.
‘I’m the victim!’ – well don’t have a go at Scarlett mate.”
Danny and Martin, 53, were at loggerheads on more than one occasion during their time in the jungle, something which Danny claims is down to Martin’s lack of knowledge about the show.
He added: “He’s never really seen the show. And I think he embarrassed himself. I think he was very uncertain of what it was for the first 48 hours.
“So he thought ‘I’ll make this Martin presents ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’, with a full supporting cast. And he did.”
Meanwhile, Danny thinks ‘Gogglebox’ star Scarlett Moffatt could really make a name for herself after her appearance on the show, but only if TV bosses manage to look past her “working class” accent.
He said: “She could be a host of ‘Have I Got News For You’ – and she wouldn’t need the scriptwriters.
“I mean that. But she’s never going to get the chance because people always look at working class people and say, ‘Well, listen to that accent.'”
