“Precious” star Gabourey Sidibe is nothing like the character that made her famous. Sidibe referenced her Oscar-nominated performance during “Saturday Night Live” monologue, when the first-time host insisted “I am not Precious, I’m Gabourey” to the tune of the “The Shoop Shoop Song”.
Sidibe was smiling and bubbly as she informed the audience that, unlike the bleak life of Precious, her real mom is “really nice,” she has plenty of friends, and Mariah Carey doesn’t have a mustache.
Sidibe starred in a handful of sketches and arguably the strangest digital short we’ve seen on ‘SNL’ in years. Watch the clip and sound off in the comments – after the song-and-dance that launched the show, was Sidibe’s “SNL” performance worth watching?
