Katie Derham leaves ITN to join BBC
Katie Derham has joined the BBC from ITN in a £250,000 switch, it has been confirmed. The newsreader, who has served at ITV News for 12 years, is expected to become the new face of the Proms.
“We can confirm that Katie Derham will be leaving ITN to join the BBC in a non-news role. We wish her all the best and will announce in due course our future presenting plans for ITV News,” an ITV spokesman confirmed.
According to the Daily Mail, it will be announced later today that she will also be presenting on BBC Two and Radio 3 as part of the deal.
During her time at ITN, Derham co-presented London Tonight and the ITV Lunchtime News, as well as filling in as a relief presenter on News at Ten.
