Victoria Beckham will launch a limited edition collection with Target in 2017
OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham is set to launch a limited edition collection with Target next year.
The 42-year-old fashion designer has announced she is working on her VB x Target fashion range, which is inspired by her Victoria, Victoria Beckham capsule, and the forthcoming range for the retail company will be available in all American retail giants, online and in-store, as well as Target.com in April 2017, which will be Victoria’s first foray into childrenswear.
Speaking about the forthcoming 200-piece collection, which will feature clothes and accessories for women of all ages, including young toddlers forthcoming venture, the brunette beauty told Business of Fashion Online: “The timing just felt right.
“I’ve made no secret of the fact that I wanted to put a collection out there for people who either can’t afford designer prices or don’t want to pay designer prices.
“It was really about looking at the business, discussing it with my partners and my CEO, and just figuring out when that time was going to be. And when I had the time to be as involved as I like to be with every single project I take on.”
And the brunette beauty – who has sons Brooklyn, 17, Romeo, 14, Cruz, 11, and five-year-old daughter Harper with her husband David Beckham – has revealed her eponymous line, which she launched in 2008, was the “other side” of her personality.
She explained: “It’s quite girly, fun, happy.
“I’ve always said [the VVB collection] is the other side to my personality, it’s the other half of my suitcase. The fun side of me.”
Victoria has revealed she will also retail the products, which will be re-imagined in all sizes from new born to extra large, on her website Victoriabeckham.com, to allow international customers to purchase the ready-to-wear garments.
Victoria’s chief executive Zach Duane explained: “It’s just a very modern way of approaching collaborations.
“Why wouldn’t we sell key styles of the collection through our website, where we engage directly with our customer?”
And the entrepreneur has revealed her partnership with Target is in a bid to “reach” more females.
She said: “I can reach so many more women through working with Target.
“It’s not just because of the price point but because of how many stores that they have, located all around America. These are women that I haven’t been able to reach out to in the past, and I always say that I want to empower women and make women look like the best versions of themselves. That shouldn’t be only people who can afford to spend a certain amount of money.
“These are clothes that I want to wear. I feel that I’ve been very, very honest with myself, my customer, and I am hoping to find a new customer as well.”
