OHMYGOSSIP — Helen Flanagan is returning to ‘Coronation Street’.
The 26-year-old actress will reprise her role as Rosie Webster – who she played from 2000 to 2012 – in scenes that will air in February and she’ll be in Weatherfield until the spring.
Helen, who will begin filming at the end of the year, said of her return: “I’m so excited to be returning to Coronation Street and being part of the Webster family again.”
Rosie left the Street to pursue a modelling career and star in a reality TV show in February 2012, and will return for a surprise visit with her sister Sophie – played by Brooke Vincent, who is on an extended break from the show – after their trip to Miami.
Storyline specifics are being kept under wraps, but bosses have promised Rosie’s family visit won’t be uneventful.
‘Coronation Street’ Producer Kate Oates said: “The Websters have missed Rosie and so have we.
“With Sophie away on holiday with her sister it seemed like the ideal time to bring Rosie back home with her for a visit.
“We are delighted that Helen is as keen explore what Rosie has been up to away from the cobbles as we are.”
Helen recently admitted she was keen to return to ‘Corrie’, but not full time as she doesn’t want to spend too much time away from her 15-month-old daughter Matilda.
She said: “I would absolutely love to go back to ‘Corrie’ but I’d like to do a few episodes, I wouldn’t like to do anything permanently, you know with Matilda, because I like being at home with her. I think I would really miss that time and I wouldn’t really want a nanny…
“Just do a little bit of work because I think that’s good for yourself as well [to have other things]. It’s nice to have a bit of balance and do things for yourself.”
