OHMYGOSSIP — Miles Teller is set to star in animated movie ‘The Ark and the Aardvark’.
The 29-year-old actor will voice the titular aardvark character in the upcoming animated feature which re-imagines the Old Testament story of Noah’s Ark.
The plot will re-tell the biblical tale in which Noah is told by God to build a huge boat so he can take two of every animal on board so they can survive a catastrophic flood but this time through the eyes of the animals and those creatures who don’t get picked to be saved.
In the story, the aardvark – named Gilbert – will lead a group of misfit animals through natural disasters and personal anxieties as they try to board the mighty ark before the impending flood.
The movie has John Stevenson at the helm to direct, following his success on animated project ‘Kung Fu Panda’.
Cecil Kramer – who produced the Oscar-winning ‘Wallace & Grommit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit’ – is on board as an executive producer along with Ben Ruffman and Steve Goldstein from Unified Pictures.
Whilst no other cast members have yet been announced, the crew seem confident that Miles will be able to bring this project to life, and dubbed the star as “exceptionally talented”.
John said in a statement: “Gilbert is young, spirited, sarcastic, and we couldn’t have found a more perfect artist to bring Gilbert to life in Miles.”
Keith Kjarval – a producer on the project – added: “Miles is an exceptionally talented and comically gifted young man who’s perfect for our hero Gilbert.”
Production has already started on the animated comedy, but no release date has been confirmed as of yet.
