Prince Charles visit gran's resting place

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles has visited his grandmother’s final resting place for the first time.
The Prince of Wales took some flowers from his garden at Birkhall, Scotland, to the grave of Princess Alice of Greece, the Duke of Edinburgh’s late mother, at Church of St Mary Magdalene in Jerusalem on Friday (30.09.16).
Charles is said to have picked the floral display himself from his garden in Aberdeenshire, and also placed some at the grave of Elizabeth, the Grand Duchess of Russia, one of his ancestors.
Alice was buried in St George’s Chapel, Windsor, following her death in 1969 but she always wanted to be laid to rest next to Elizabeth.
Alice founded an order of nuns during her later years and was said to smoke Woodbines for around two years when she lived at Buckingham Palace until her death in 1969.
She became Princess Andrew of Greece after marrying Prince Andrew of Greece.
Born at Windsor Castle in February 1885 as Princess Alice of Battenberg, she passed away at Buckingham Palace aged 84 in December 1969.
She was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia at a psychiatry unit in Berlin after believing she had been intimate with Christ and Buddha.
