Amy Winehouse has reportedly received a $83,087 bonus after her hit song “Rehab” was used in Glee. According to The Mirror, Amy was paid more than all of the other artists who have had their music featured in the Fox comedy-drama.
“Rehab” was showcased in the pilot episode of Glee after the show’s vocal group New Directions went to see rival club Vocal Adrenaline perform.
After the instalment aired, sales of Winehouse’s 2006 single were boosted as Glee fans downloaded the track. “Amy was chuffed. She loves the show and watches religiously. She is also well aware of how popular Glee makes tracks, and is thrilled to be re-entering the charts,” a source said.
