Matthew Perry not worried about missing Friends reunion
OHMYGOSSIP – Matthew Perry isn’t too upset that he missed the recent Friends reunion. The 46-year-old actor found worldwide fame through playing Chandler Bing in the hit U.S. television series, which ran from 1994 to 2004. In February (16), his co-stars David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston and Matt LeBlanc all joined together for a tribute to director James Burrows, but Matthew had to miss out due to theatre commitments in London. He sent a video message instead, but the actor told the Huffington Post he doesn’t consider it was a reunion.
“Not really, because it really wasn’t a reunion,” Matthew told the Huffington Post when asked if he was sad he missed out on the segment. “It was just six people getting together for a Jim Burrows special. It wasn’t really a reunion. And I couldn’t do it because I was in London doing my play.”
Friends continues to delight fans of all ages thanks to its loveable characters and timeless humour. Despite the fact it ended 12 years ago, it shows no sign of waning in popularity, which Matthew finds amazing.
“Because of Netflix, a lot of kids are watching and wondering why I look so old,” he laughed.
Friends ended with an epic double episode featuring a happy conclusion to the show’s on-off romance between Ross and Rachel, played by Jennifer and David.
In the finale, Chandler Bing and his pals Joey, Monica and Phoebe also moved on with their lives, and Matthew previously revealed he thinks a reunion would spoil the ending.
“That’s the concern about doing a reunion show or movie because it ended so well,” he tells British talk show This Morning. “We don’t want to sort of ruin that. Everybody asks about a reunion and there’s been no real talk of that.”
