Robert De Niro for “Midnight Run” sequel

Universal Pictures is developing a sequel to 1988 action comedy “Midnight Run”, says The Hollywood Reporter, reports Digitalspy.

Robert De Niro has signed to produce the follow -up, which is being scripted by Role Models scribe Timothy Dowling.

The original film centred on De Niro´s bounty hunter escorting an embezzler, portrayed by Charles Grodin, across the country.

The second instalment will reportedly pair De Niro with a younger comedic actor.

De Niro´s Tribeca Films partner Jane Rosenthal is also producing.
