Cate Blanchett: “I will always put kids first”

The Australian actress Cate Blanchett has revealed that she will always put her children before her career.

Cate Blanchett, who has three children – Dashiell (8), Roman (5), and 22-month-old Ignatius with husband Andrew Upton, said that she only accepts film roles if they fit in around her family life.

“With my film choices it used to be a question of “Who’s directing it?”. Now it is “How long is the shoot and where are they filming?” Blanchett told Style magazine.

“Recently I said yes to sth. because filming is in the Easter holidays. The children need to be in school now.”

“The main priorities are the children, the day begins at about 5.30am – my youngest is an early riser. After breakfast, I walk the kids to school – they go to the state primary at the end of the street.”
