Julianne Moore puts kids first
OHMYGOSSIP — Julianne Moore always arranges her work so she can be around her children as much as possible. The 55-year-old actress – who has son Caleb, 18, and daughter Liv, 13, with husband Bart Freundlich – insists her movies are shot in New York so she is close to home and won’t respond to correspondence or arrange meetings for times when her kids are around.
She said: “At night I won’t answer work emails, or the phone, unless there’s an emergency.
“If I have to read scripts or have a meeting or do an interview, I do it during the school day. I don’t think I’ve ever given an interview after 3pm in my entire life.
“Even socially – I’ll try to see my friends within the school hours, just because I want to be home when my kids are home. I want to have dinner with them.”
The ‘Freeheld’ actress admits it can be “difficult” to find great roles, but insists it has nothing to do with her age.
She told Britain’s Marie Claire magazine: “I have been getting this question since I was 30. It’s always a hard one to answer.
“It’s very difficult to find parts, no matter how old you are, no matter where you are and whether you are a man or a woman.
“The movie industry is not in the business of finding good roles for actors or actresses, it is in the business of creating films that will make as much money as possible.”
