Princess Charlotte’s moniker tops list of most popular baby name of 2015
OHMYGOSSIP — Britain’s Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s daughter Charlotte’s traditional moniker has been crowned the most popular baby name of 2015.
The royal couple announced the cute moniker they’d chosen for their little bundle of joy shortly after her birth in May and it seems new parents of this year have been keen to follow in their footsteps as the forename has climbed into the top position of a new annual poll, according to Nameberry.com.
Following closely behind in second place was Amelia, while Ava completed the top three after securing the third place.
The more traditional names seem to be making a reappearance after last year saw parents name their babies after characters from animated movies such as ‘Frozen.’
However, despite Charlotte winning the crown as most popular baby name of 2015, the royal couple’s son George, two, failed to even make the top thirty in the boys category.
However, his father William, 33, will be pleased to know his traditional moniker climbed into 29th place, while his great-uncle Prince Andrew, 55, did even better with 26th position.
