Avril Lavigne is doing a lot better since being struck down with Lyme Disease
OHMYGOSSIP — Avril Lavigne says she is “doing a lot better” since being struck down with Lyme Disease and will make a “100 percent recovery”.
The ‘Complicated’ hitmaker found herself bedridden last October when she contracted the infection but says she is doing much better and will make a “100 percent recovery”.
She said: “I’m about halfway through my treatment. I’m doing a lot better. Seeing a lot of progress … I’m just really grateful to know that, like, I will make [a] 100 percent recovery.”
The 30-year-old singer also shared the difficulties she suffered when trying to get a diagnosis.
Tearing up on Good Morning America, she added: “I literally became bedridden last October. They would pull up their computer and be like, ‘Chronic fatigue syndrome.’ Or, ‘Why don’t you try to get out of bed, Avril, and just go play the piano?’ It’s like, ‘Are you depressed?'”
Speaking directly to those currently suffering from the disease, she said: “There is hope. Lyme disease does exist. And you can get better. I really just want to go out there and truly do what I love. So I’m so excited for life after this.”
Meanwhile, Avril recently revealed she is keen to make a Christmas album.
She said: “Moving forward, I’m really clear on what I want in life … I’ve always wanted to make a Christmas album, but I’ve never had the time. But now it’s like, ‘You know what, just do it!’
“Because that’s something I really want to do, so that’s going to be next for me … I really want to enjoy everything, because life is good. I think there are a lot of positives with it. I’m definitely choosing to view it that way.”
