Cara Delevingne: Modelling makes me feel empty
OHMYGOSSIP — Cara Delevingne has revealed she wanted to try her hand at acting because modelling had started to make her feel “empty”.
The 22-year-old beauty – who has already appeared in ‘Anna Karenina’ and ‘The Face of an Angel’ and is set to star in ‘Pan’ and ‘Paper Towns’ later this year – has revealed she decided to break into the movie business after realising the fashion industry was just about “creating pretty things”.
She told the Wall Street Journal magazine: “I ended up feeling a bit empty.
“Fashion is about what’s on the outside, and that’s it. There’s no searching, it’s just creating pretty things.”
Although Cara has made a name for herself starring in the pages of Vogue and walking the catwalk for luxury labels, she insists acting was always her first priority but was forced to give it up because she found it “impossible” to get an agent.
She explained: “I basically gave up on acting, because trying to get an agent was impossible.
“Everyone said, ‘You’re just a model’ … once I had my mind set that I was going to do this modelling thing, I really wanted to beat it, if that makes sense. Win it.”
And because of her modelling past, the pretty star believes there is more pressure on her to make “amazing” films.
She said: “I don’t want to be that cliché: model-slash-actress. People are going to judge it so harshly that I think it has to be amazing.”
