Naomi Campbell is organising two charity fashion shows in aid of the Ebola crisis
OHMYGOSSIP — Naomi Campbell is organising two runway shows for London and New York fashion week in February as part of her Fashion for Relief foundation in order to raise money for the Ebola crisis.
The 44-year-old supermodel – who launched the Fashion for Relief foundation in 2005 – has organised two catwalk shows, one in New York and one in London, to coincide with their February fashion weeks to raise money for the appeal, reports Telegraph.co.uk.
The raven-haired beauty – who, through the foundation, has also provided aid to victims following the India terrorist attacks in 2009, the Japan earthquake and tsunami in 2011 and the Haiti earthquake in 2010 – previously called in the help of fellow supermodel Kate Moss and singer Beyoncé to walk in the shows and promote the cause.
Naomi – who has a home at the heart of the outbreak in Kenya – hopes the star-studded events will not only raise funds but help to educate the public over the crisis.
The fashion legend recently admitted she is “scared” of the virus and feels a responsibility to fight against the outbreak which has claimed the lives of over 1000 people in West Africa.
She told The New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column: “People don’t have a clear idea about what Ebola is.”
Adding: “Ebola does not discriminate.”
