Britain’s Duchess of Cambridge is preparing to embark on her first solo tour
OHMYGOSSIP — The Duchess of Cambridge will embark on her first solo tour later this month when she visits Malta on behalf of the queen to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Maltese independence.
The 32-year-old Royal is to travel to Malta without her husband Prince William or their son Prince George later this month on behalf of Queen Elizabeth.
Duchess Catherine will visit the nation to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Maltese independence and its people are already getting ready to welcome the stunning royal, according to the Daily Mail newspaper.
The Duchess will likely feel at home on the Mediterranean island – which was ruled by the British for 150 years – as the Maltese still drive on the left, have British phone and post boxes, use three-pin electric plugs and, there’s even a Marks and Spencer shop in the capital Valletta.
Catherine is visiting Malta as it’s said to be a country close to the Queen’s heart as she lived there for two years while she and her husband Prince Philip were newlyweds, as he was serving in the Royal Navy, and she reportedly cherishes the memory of living a relatively normal life during her stay on the island.
Despite the trip being the first royal tour the brunette beauty will undertake on her own, she won’t have much time to explore as it will last just two days.
