Rita Ora’s love of NYC inspired DKNY perfume

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Hot Right Now’ singer Rita Ora agreed to collaborate with DKNY on new perfume, ‘My NY’ because New York is where “everything happened” for her. Rita Ora agreed to her DKNY perfume collaboration because New York City is where “everything happened” for her.

The ‘Hot Right Now’ singer is the new face of the Donna Karen scent ‘My NY’, a perfume which is described as a “city in a bottle”.

Talking to Glamour magazine’s beauty director, Rita explained why ‘The Big Apple’ means so much to her.

She shared: “They explained the concept, ‘My NY’ being about New York and it having to be the city in a bottle and that’s where it came from. And I was, ‘Oh,’ because New York is a really special place. It’s where I went into the studio for the first time, that’s where I got signed, that’s where things happened for me. It made sense and it was a young, fresh fragrance so it smelled awesome and the bottle is awesome. There was no reason for me not to do it.”

The sexy songstress also noted that perfume is an important part of her pre-show routine. She said: “My ritual is: I sip tea, listen to music, reapply my lipstick about 17 million times and spray perfume. I feel like it’s my responsibility when I’m on set to give people motivation and make sure everyone’s comfortable so they work to their best.”

Rita is known for her bold fashion statements, red lips and graphic nails and the 23-year-old singer admits she likes to use her “tools” to look her best.

She explained: “The perfume world is new for me but smelling good is really important. As you can see, everything that I’m doing that we can do to decorate as a woman, so nails, smell, hair, make-up, clothes, underwear, everything I use. I use the tools that we get given. So for me doing a perfume was the next step to being fabulous.”
