Mel B’s daughter reveals she moved out of their home due to her mum’s underwear policy
OHMYGOSSIP — Mel B’s daughter moved out of their family home due to her mother’s underwear policy.
The Spice Girls singer, 49, had her girl Phoenix Chi, 25, during her short-lived romance with her Dutch backing dancer ex Jimmy Gulzar, 49, and the young DJ has now revealed why she struck out on her own last year when it came to her accommodation.
She makes the admission while appearing with mum Mel on comic and presenter Romesh Ranganathan’s ‘Parents Evening’ show which will be shown on ITV on Saturday (09.11.24.)
The show sees TV host Richard Madeley, 68, reveal he has ditched wearing boxer shorts as he finds them too uncomfortable, saying on the show: “In my early thirties, I found boxers, budgie smugglers and all of that, just chafe – so I got rid of them, and I’ve never looked back.”
Mel chips in: “In general, I like things to feel free,” – with an embarrassed looking Phoenix then revealing: “She does, and that’s why I moved out.”
Phoenix recently told how being a so-called nepo baby has helped her career but she had to endure relentless bullying at school due to her mum’s global stardom.
She said: “I was a coloured girl, I had big hair, I was loud. Some kids just don’t like that and I was bullied all throughout schooling. It sucked.”
Phoenix also told on her new Channel 4 documentary, ‘Born In The Limelight: Nepo Babies UNTOLD’ how her mum struggled to reconcile her parenting style of keeping her children grounded with the perks that came with being a rich and famous parent.
She said: “She doesn’t really like to think of it like that because she didn’t get through life like that. So it was hard to make her understand in a way.”
