Oprah Winfrey is going on tour
OHMYGOSSIP — Oprah Winfrey has announced she will embark on a US tour in September, focusing on empowerment, resilience and authenticity.
The talk show host has announced she will visit arenas in eight cities in September to host a two-day conference, titled ‘The Life You Want,’ focusing on empowerment, resilience and authenticity.
The 60-year-old star told The Hollywood Reporter: “It’s about living the life you want, because a great percentage of the population is living a life that their mother wanted, that their husband wanted, that they thought or heard they wanted.”
The media mogul, who revealed the tour has been top of her “bucket list” for some time, will share her personal story and interact with her fans on the first day of the conference.
On day two, she will lead group activities and introduce different speakers, including ‘Eat Pray Love’ author Elizabeth Gilbert, pastor Rob Bell, OWN star Iyanla Vanzant and spiritual guru Deepak Chopra.
The tour will visit Atlanta, Georgia, Auburn Hills, Michigan, Houston, Texas, Miami, Florida, Newark, New Jersey, Seattle, Washington, San Jose, California, and Washington D.C.
Asked about the impetus for the tour, OWN president Sheri Salata said: “There’s no question that Oprah’s supreme gift is connecting with an audience.”
Tickets will go on sale on Oprah.com on April 7.
