Cara Delevingne wanted her new collection of Mulberry bags to be “functional”
OHMYGOSSIP — Cara Delevingne wanted her new collection of Mulberry bags to be “functional”. The 21-year-old model has designed three bags with the British heritage brand which were unveiled at Claridge’s Hotel in London on Sunday (16.02.14).
Speaking about the partnership which came about after a photo shoot with the label last year, Cara said: “We discovered a mutual love for the countryside, for animals – and for functional bags, I wanted something very functional.”
The bags come in three sizes and three different styles including zesty emerald, cobalt blue or grey camouflage.
The affordable bags – most of which are priced below £1,000 – feature detachable straps so all the items can be worn as backpacks or carried over the arm.
Cara insists she was involved in all aspects of the design and manufacturing process but admits she was overcome with nerves ahead of their debut.
She added to the Daily Telegraph newspaper: “I was so nervous before they finally showed the finished version to me. We only started working on them at the end of last year. These things can go so wrong. They covered my eyes before they finally showed them to me. The build up was intense, I can tell you.”
