Kate Middleton named as top beauty icon of 2013
OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Middleton has been named as the nation’s top beauty icon for the third year running, in a poll of 2,000 British women. The Duchess of Cambridge, who became a mum for the first time in July, topped the list ahead of This Morning host Holly Willoughby and global superstar Beyonce.
Former X Factor judge Cheryl Cole and new Strictly Come Dancing champion Abbey Clancy completed the top five in the survey carried out by high street chain Superdrug.
“Kate Middleton has secured her place in the nation’s hearts, and has cemented her position as a beauty icon,” commented Superdrug director Simon Comins.
“The Duchess is always immaculately presented, but is styled in a way the average person can relate to, and take inspiration from.”
The Duchess was one of six brunettes in the top ten of the list, which also included Angelina Jolie, Nicole Scherzinger and Victoria Beckham.
“Our customers definitely take note of Kate’s look, brunette hair colours and natural makeup have never been more popular,” Comins added.
“And it’s interesting that the majority of our top ten list this year have naturally brown hair.”
