Janet Jackson wants to adopt
OHMYGOSSIP — Janet Jackson is reportedly ‘looking into’ adopting a child from either Syria or Jordan. The 47-year-old singer, who revealed in February that she had secretly married businessman Wissam Al Mana, 37, in a “quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony” last year, is eager to become a mother and has begun researching the process of gaining custody of a child from Syria or Jordan.
A source told UsMagazine.com: “She now pretty much knows pregnancy is not in the cards, so she’s been looking into adopting. She’s been very moved by the events in Jordan and Syria now that she’s been living overseas. Not sure how soon it will happen, but there’s been movement on this.”
Another insider told the New York Post’s Page Six that Janet has spoken to Queen Rania of Jordan about her desire to adopt.
The source added: “Janet has always been concerned about the welfare of the world’s children, and it’s important to her that she affords a baby the opportunities that have been afforded her.”
Janet, who was previously married to James DeBarge and Rene Elizondo, began dating Wissam in 2010 and friends close to the star revealed she always wanted to become a mother.
One pal said: “She wants kids. If she can’t have them, she will adopt.”
