Cate Blanchett isn’t materialistic
OHMYGOSSIP — Cate Blanchett says she doesn’t care about materialistic things — she’s only interested in being a mother and a wife.
The actress — who has earned critical acclaim for her portrayal of a rich New York City housewife in Woody Allen‘s new movie Blue Jasmine — says she’s nothing like her designer label-loving character, because she finds joy in life by being a mother and wife.
Cate has sons Dashiell, 11, Roman, nine, and Ignatius, five, with husband Andrew Upton.
“I suppose the difference between me and Jasmine is my life is based on things that are fundamentally real — my relationship, my relationship with my children,” she said.
“I think the big regret in Jasmine is that she never did anything with her life. There’s so much self-loathing in her, and I find that quite moving.”
