Sarah Harding arrested for using phone while driving
OHMYGOSSIP — Former Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding has been arrested after she failed to stop for police who were trying to pull her over for driving while using her mobile phone.
Sarah Harding has been arrested for using her phone while driving and not stopping for police. The former Girls Aloud star was seen talking on her mobile phone as she drove through London on Thursday (04.04.13) and she reportedly refused to pull over when asked before being stopped and arrested.
She has been charged for both offences and will appear in Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (11.04.13).
A source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “Sarah was driving in a 4×4 when a policeman on a bicycle saw her and tried to make her stop. He was trying to flag her down but she carried on a bit down the road where she was pulled over a couple of minutes later.
“She was talking to the police by the side of the road for a while before she was arrested.
“Apparently Sarah was very upset when she was arrested and charged. The offences are pretty serious.”
She could lose her driving licence and faces a maximum fine of £1,000 for using her phone, with a possible £5,000 fine for failing to stop for the police.
The 31-year-old star has had a troubled past, including checking into a rehab clinic for sleeping pill and alcohol addiction in October 2011, one month after splitting from fiance DJ Tom Crane and the recent demise of Girls Aloud.
Speaking recently though, she said: “I’m 200 per cent better in terms of my inner strength and attitude.
“I’m a lot calmer. I still have my hyper days, but I take one day at a time. I have learned from my mistakes.”
