Tim Burton: All families are twisted

OHMYGOSSIP — Tim Burton doesn’t have the oddest family in town. The eccentric director, married to Bohemian actress Helena Bonham Carter, says his fascination with his own relatives lead him to make dark comedy Dark Shadows with Johnny Depp.

“Families are just such a strange thing,” says Tim. “I mean, for me it doesn’t matter if people are rich or poor, whatever nationality, all families have a strange dysfunctional thing to them.

“Good families, bad families, there’s always a twisted element to them. I always thought my friends’ families were much better than mine, then you kind of dig into the surface and it’s like they’re all weird!”
