Rainey Qualley named Miss Golden Globe 2012

Andie MacDowell‘s daughter has been named Miss Golden Globe 2012. The Four Weddings and a Funeral actress’ 21-year-old girl Rainey Qualley has been given the prestigious honor by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which hosts the annual Golden Globes awards ceremony.

Rainey — an aspiring actress and singer — said, “I would like to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for giving me this wonderful opportunity to serve as Miss Golden Globe 2012. I’m really looking forward to being a part of this year’s awards presentation.”

Other winners have previously included Rumer Willis, Lorraine Nicholson and Kathryn Eastwood.

The Miss Golden Globe recipient assists at the official awards ceremony which is slated to take place on January 15.

This year’s event is to be hosted by Ricky Gervais, for the third year running.

Last year, the British comedian caused controversy with his jokes and admits he was surprised he got the gig again.

“They must be mad. Not sure if I’m flattered that they trust me or insulted that they trust me,” he said.
