Justin Bieber ‘baby’ DNA test still on, says Mariah Yeater lawyer
Mariah Yeater’s lawyer Jeffery Leving has said that the paternity action against Justin Bieber is not entirely over. Reports recently indicated that 20-year-old Yeater dismissed her paternity suit after her legal team quit.
However, Leving told Chicago news station WGNtv that both camps are trying to address the matter out of court and that a confidential DNA test is still being sought.
“I did not step down and there is a legal team. It’s a new legal team,” Leving explained.
“In light of death threats against my client, strategies have been reviewed… the San Diego team has been replaced by John Carlson from Los Angeles.
“Secondly, negotiations are going on right now with Bieber’s council and we’re trying to negotiate a private, secure DNA test with the same safe guards that would exist if there were a court order, but without a court order.
“The case is completely out of control and I don’t want something terrible to happen to my client or her child.”
Leving said that Yeater still claims the 17-year-old pop singer is the father of her child. He also won’t allow Yeater to do any more interviews.
Bieber has denied that he fathered Yeater’s child and has agreed to a DNA test.
