Kirsten Dunst @ the Melancholia première
At the Melancholia première the actress enhanced her contemporary Ophelia look with her vaguely Gothic ensemble featuring neo-Baroque, Vogue.it mediates.
Last night The Curzon Mayfair in London hosted the première of Melancholia, the latest film by Lars von Trier (who sadly hit the headlines with his provoking statements during the press conference in Cannes) that, besides dealing with the disaster movie genre, obviously in his own way, has enabled Kirsten Dunst to grab, precisely in Cannes, the best actress award.
And last night, in London, it was stunning Kirsten who walked the red carpet, donning an outfit by Honor definitely in line (paisley print, puffs of fabric and a subtle play on dark sheerness) with the character she plays in the film, a Shakespearian new Ophelia whose fate is marked by tragedy.
A look, flaunted by Kirsten last night, that evoked also her debut in The Virgin Suicides by Sofia Coppola. Alongside the actress on last night’s red carpet also John Hurt and Simon Pegg.
