Naomi Campbell is set to be honoured for her charity work
The supermodel – who has raised more than US$7 million (RM22.05 million) for charitable causes – and her boyfriend, Russian businessman Vladislav Doronin, will be awarded at the Angel Ball in New York, an event organised by the Angel Foundation, which seeks to raise awareness of cancer research.
Denise Rich – who founded the charity after her daughter, Gabrielle, died of leukemia – said: “She really is amazing woman and she does a lot for charity.
“She has her own charity. She raised a lot of money this summer for Haiti and for AIDS relief.”
The Angel Ball is set to be held on Oct 17 at Cipriani Wall Street, featuring performances by Eve, Patti LaBelle and DJ Cassidy.
Earlier this year, Naomi hosted a Fashion For Relief charity show at the Forville Marker at the Cannes Film Festival in aid of Japan’s earthquake victims.
She took to the runway in a black, slashed to the thigh outfit, with other stars such as Jane Fonda, Rosario Dawson and Yasmin Le Bon also strutting down the catwalk.
For the finale of the event a number of models took to runway to show off a collection of T-shirts created by Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana to raise funds for the Japanese Red Cross.
Naomi said: “The destruction caused by the earthquake in Japan is completely heartbreaking, it’s so hard to even begin to comprehend the tragic loss the people of Japan are coping with
