Kendall Jenner: I’m not too young to model
Kendall Jenner has responded to the controversy surrounding a swimsuit photoshoot she modelled for last year. The reality star and younger sister to Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian was 14 years old at the time the bikini pictures were published, but has insisted that there was nothing wrong with the shoot and that many models begin their careers at a young age.
“I’m almost 16 years old, and most models start off way younger than me. I did a photoshoot on a beach in a bikini and people went crazy. What do you expect me to be wearing on a beach?” Jenner told US Weekly.
“People expect [my sister Kylie and I] to be little 10-year-old girls. Then we go to red carpets and we’re wearing [dresses] and heels and people say, ‘Oh, they’re so old. They’re growing up too fast.’ [But] I’m basically 16 years old!”
Kim Kardashian has described the criticism surrounding Jenner’s modelling career as “ridiculous” while sister Khloe also said that her sister’s career should be “put in perspective” with other famous models.
Kendall’s father Bruce Jenner also defended his daughter, arguing that her photoshoots are never inappropriate.
