Angelina Jolie confirms Cleopatra rumors
Angelina Jolie has confirmed she is in talks with director David Fincher to make a 3D retelling of Cleopatra.
The actress — who has been linked to the project for months as Hollywood speculation mounts over whether Jolie would follow in Dame Elizabeth Taylor’s footsteps by playing the Egyptian pharao — announced at the Cannes Film Festival in France she is on board for the project — and she wants the Fight Club filmmaker to direct.
“Yes, we just don’t know,” Jolie said when asked about Fincher’s involvement in the Cleopatra movie. “It’s all very early. Fincher’s been an old friend, so we’ve always been looking for something to do.”
Angelina recently revealed that she struggles to live up to her screen goddess image.
The 35-year-old actress admits dressing up for work or premiers has become more of a chore since she became a mother of six meaning she relished the chance of hiding behind the microphone for Kung Fu Panda 2.
“It is a lot more fun when you can just show up to work in your pajamas,” says Angelina.
“That’s always a good time for all of us. I can’t say that it is a very, very difficult job. It really is a pleasure.”
